OFFICE: Nation’s Largest Engineering Firm Moving 400 Employees to Sharonville

The largest engineering firm in the country is moving about 400 high-paying jobs to Sharonville.

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) has signed a long-term lease for 68,000 square feet of space in Neyer Properties’ Two Crowne Point building. The company is scheduled to relocate its local headquarters from Forest Park to Sharonville on Jan. 1, 2020. Currently, Jacobs is located at 1880 Waycross Road.

Chris Xeil Lyons, economic development director for the city of Sharonville, said this is the biggest economic development project in the community in more than a decade in terms of payroll and job creation.

“It’s going to be a game-changer for the city,” Lyons told me.

It also marks a boost to the city’s Northern Lights District, an area of Sharonville that includes a mix of office buildings, hotels and the city’s convention center.

“Hopefully this helps us in our search to secure more restaurants in the area,” Lyons said. “There are all high-paying jobs with disposable incomes that can go out for lunch.”

Eric Olofson and Peter Snow with Cushman & Wakefield represented Jacobs, while Darin Armbruster and Doug Altemuehle with Newmark Knight Frank represented Neyer Properties.

Locally, Jacobs is the largest engineering firm in Greater Cincinnati, with 2018 total local billings of $131 million. The firm has 80 local registered engineers and 425 total local employees, according to Business Courier research.
